Having already dispatched of Whiteknights, Desborough played West Berks in the final of the Berkshire Inter Club Tournament and duly won by 39 shots, 113 – 74, with the Newbury side conceding early. Although the rinks skipped by Stephen McAlister at home and Mark Essex away both won, the cornerstone of the victory came from the unbadged rink skipped by Steve Cotterill, who along with Wayne Renouf, Newark Smelt and Clive Watson won 40 -3 to leave Desborough as the Champions of Berkshire County.
