Don't forget to update your licence before going afloat this season.

You might have seen articles in the boating press about this new requirement from OFCOM.

it is a legal requirement for any boat carrying VHF or other radio transmission equipment (AIS, RADAR etc).

Basically you need a document in your ship’s papers that shows you have assessed the risk of electro magnetic emissions from your VHF etc, and taken appropriate action. Trouble is, the OFCOM information is impossible to understand!

Luckily the Cruising Association have published simplified guidance and a template that’s easy to fill in. Look for the link to a Simple Assessment Template.
