For the secretary of a bowls club you may think we take a rest at this time of year . Far from it . League AGMs.Club AGMs Presentation nights and paperwork coming through for next season. Minutes to type, a bit labourus with only a two finger action. O yes i also have an atricle in the NG16 this month.

Still concerns about the state of the Coronation park green .We are told by Broxtowe Council orders will be placed and work done ready for next season . With winter fast approaching and nothing happening up there i wonder if there is time left . I,m no expert so i suppose we have to have faith. With concerns also about the rink markings used last year any changes to those would be dependant on how many rinks will be in usable condition at the seasons start.

Attending the Bowls Nottingham AGM one proposal was to allow male players to wear shorts .After some discussion the proposal was passed and Tailored shorts are allowable .The bowls England representetive at the meeting stated only shorts approved by bowls England should be worn. Okay i agree shorts should be tailored and the correct colour but come on! No wonder the game does not appeal to younger players.Get them on the green first ,get them playing and enjoying the game then worry about approved clothing.

Looking forward to the presentation night .looks like being a good turn out .

Please remember to bring some raffle prizes . Starts 7.30pm. See you there.
