A new challenge for the young explorer has arrived in Amport.

Twelve QR codes are hidden in plain sight in the village. Once you spot one, scan it with your smartphone to watch a bite-sized animated film featuring some of the creatures you can find in or around our precious chalk stream - the Pillhill Brook. Our trail combines an easy walking route with interactive digital content, making nature exploration fun and informative.

Start by Amport School and scan the information board you will find there for more details of the trail. Hunt around Amport Green and the playground for 5 QR codes. Trek through Amport Fen to find 3 more. Can you find the QR code opposite Bridge Cottage? Take care crossing the road and do stay on the pavement. Two more QR codes can be found at the end of the hidden footpath linking Amport Green with Amport Ford. Finally find the 2 last QR codes on the Hawk Inn picnic benches. Why not stop, look and listen along your journey to see if you can spot or hear any of creatures you’ve learnt about on your trek. Of course you can always start your adventure on the green by the Hawk Inn, there is another information board on the old bus shelter there, and finish on Amport Green.

Have fun!

Thank you to the Watercress & Winterbournes for coming up with the idea and funding the signs and QR code plaques.
