Reminiscences of Old Halling

Did you live in Halling prior to 1980? If so, you probably have many memories of what the village was like before the expansion that it is now. Halling Historical Society would like to hear from you with any reminiscences of your life in the village before 1980.

What shops and trades can you recall from then? Tell us about characters you remember. If you were at school what did you get up to growing up in the village? What changes in the village have you lived through?

The Historical Society wants to give over space on this website to villagers of that time to record their memories for posterity.

You can submit your memories in writing, with photos, by audio recording, or in a video; however you please. The Society reserves the right to edit in length if necessary. This will not be a site for photos only, it will be for stories but which can include photos. Photos only should continue to be posted to the popular 'Photos of Old Halling' Facebook page.

Please contact hallinghistorical@gmail.com to test out your ideas or to submit material, or call 07754-616210 to discuss.
