PLEASE SEE THE UPDATE FLETCHING PARISH COUNCIL HAS RECEIVED FROM WEALDEN DISTRICT COUNCIL

Wealden District Council (WDC) are pleased to announce that, following some initial disruption to staffing levels due to Coronavirus, the Council and its waste contractor Biffa are able to resume the household bulky waste collection service from Tuesday 5 May 2020.

Bookings and payments can be made for this service from Friday 1 May 2020.

Please note this service has limited availability and is likely to be in high demand. As the local Household Waste Recycling Sites are currently closed, WDC want to ensure this service is available to those most in need. Please continue to help by avoiding creating unnecessary waste until the tips can reopen.

You will be aware that social distancing measures to protect the public remain in place. Accordingly, any items to be removed must be placed in an easily accessible location outside of the house for 7am on the day of collection. They must also be accessible to WDC operatives without needing to breach social distancing rules. If on arrival items cannot be accessed or removed safely, they will not be collected and a refund will not be given.

Wealden District Council's preference is for residents to book and pay for this service online using https://my.wealden.gov.uk/ especially as staff are very busy dealing with the Covid 19 emergency. If you cannot book and pay on line please phone 01323 443322 however, please understand they may not be able to answer calls as quickly as normal.

For further information on the bulky waste collection service, including what we collect and the charges please visit https://www.wealden.gov.uk/recycling-and-waste/bulky-household-waste-collections/

Wealden District Council are very grateful to residents for their understanding and support during this difficult time we all face together. With the resumption of the bulky waste collection service; WDC are pleased to report that all waste services provided by the Council are now operating as normal again.
