Birchington Bowls Club & Tennis Courts
The Rink Booking system is to cease as of 13/06/20 due to the expected numbers of bowlers wishing to bowl since the lock down has been lifted has not occurred.
However Bowlers must still adhere to the rules for play that were published 27/05/20 with a couple of amendments due to further restrictions being lifted.
- Playing of bowls is no longer restricted to games of of singles pairs or triples may now be played,
- The restriction on spectators wishing to watch bowling has now been lifted, however they must ensure social distancing guidelines are adhered to whilst at the club.
- Social members are now permitted to use the bowls facilities,however they will have to use their own bowls there will be no bowls equipment available from the club at the present time.
- Alternate rinks are to be used for play at the present time ie 1-3-5 , 2-4-6 we hope that this can be relaxed in the near future.
- The Clubhouse is NOT to be used (including the bar and kitchen)
- Use of toilets is permitted, entrance to which is by the outside door only. All members MUST wash their hands on entry, if using the cubicles, please flush after use and sanitize all items you touched with the items provided. Don’t forget to take the cloth home for disposal.
- In the event that you need to retrieve your bowls or any equipment from your lockers, you will be permitted to use the changing room on ONE occasion. Please take home any equipment with you.
- Any rubbish MUST be taken home with you and not left at the club.
- Please ensure social distancing guidelines are met whilst at the club.
- The First Aid holdall will be temporally moved to the ladies toilet area.
- The mats and jacks are to be kept outside the ladies toilet door permanently, so no one needs to enter the clubhouse unless the toilets are required. As only singles play is permitted, scoreboards and pushers are not allowed.
- Each player to have their own Jack (suggested one white & one yellow) and each their own mat (one either end). The mat can then be moved by the mat owner or at the request of their opponent.
- Upon completion of the session, both jacks need to be cleaned with the antibacterial spray and wiped with the towels provided. In addition, both mats need to be sprayed with the antibacterial spray and left outside ladies toilet door. The wipes and spray are in toilet area.
- The last person leaving must sanitize all door handles and locks. Don’t forget to set the alarm to ensure the club is secure on departure and take the wipe home for disposal.
