Shropshire Council, in partnership with Kier and WSP, will be carrying out essential maintenance works to New Invention Bridge on the A488.
For safety reasons, the bridge must remain closed to vehicular traffic until all structural repairs have been completed and have achieved the required strength. The current road closure and signed diversion route will remain in place for the duration of the works.
Anticipated completion: 27 October 2026
