Road Resurfacing in Charlton

As part of Hampshire County Council’s annual Planned Maintenance programme, carriageway resurfacing will be carried out on Foxcotte Road, Charlton.

These works will be carried out in two phases as follows,

Phase 1 – The roundabout with Foxcotte Lane up to property No 62 Foxcotte Road.

24th – 26th November 2025 - Carriageway Resurfacing.
2nd – 3rd December 2025 - Post resurfacing civil works and specialist manhole treatment.

Phase 2 – Hatherden Road to Property No 48 Foxcotte Road.

27th November 2025 – 1st December 2025 - Carriageway Resurfacing.
4th – 5th December 2025 - Specialist manhole treatment.

The works are scheduled to begin on 24th November 2025 and are expected to take up to 10 days to complete, with a road closure to through traffic between 07:30 and 18:00hrs. In preparation for the carriageway resurfacing, works to expose the full carriageway width and defective kerb replacement will start on 18th November for up to 3 days using temporary traffic signals between the hours of 09:30-16:00.

While the schedule allows for potential delays, adverse weather or unforeseen circumstances may still lead to short-notice changes. We will make every effort to provide timely updates, although communicating these to the public at short notice can be challenging.
