IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING HIGHWAY WORKS IN YOUR ROAD

From Hampshire Highways

What will we be doing?

We will be carrying out carriageway pre-surface treatment repairs, crack sealing & patching.

Where are the works being carried out?

A272 Petersfield Road from Tithelands and to A32.

When is the work starting and how long for?

Starting on 09th March 2026 and is expected to take up to 5 nights to complete.

Will you need to close the road?

In order to complete the works safely a ROAD CLOSURE will be necessary. The road will be closed to through traffic any time between 19:00 – 06:00 hours on each of the days we are working. The road will be open outside of these hours.

Will I have vehicular access to and from my property?

Vehicular access for residents and businesses will only be maintained if safe to do so during the works. Pedestrian access to properties will not be affected, and emergency vehicles will have access at all times. Short delays are likely, so if you need to make an essential journey during the works, please allow extra time. Operatives stationed throughout the site will assist either by directing you via a diversion, or through the works via the safest route.

How can I help?

In order to help us complete the work as quickly as possible, please ensure that no vehicles are parked in the road on the days of the treatment. Please be aware, any vehicles left parked on the road that prevent the works taking place, face the risk of being removed. If you know you will need to use your car whilst the works are ongoing, then parking at an alternative location will allow the operatives to complete the works quicker without interruptions.

What happens if the start date of the works change, how will I know?

Any significant changes to the scheduled dates will be made clear on the yellow sign boards located at the works limits.

If you need to report an issue with the works, you can via www.hants.gov.uk/roadworks and then clicking on ‘Find out more’ on the ‘Roadworks or road closure issues’ square. Thank you for your co-operation and patience whilst we undertake these essential works.
