TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2020To allow works to be carried out to provide a new water connection, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Romden Road, Smarden, in the Ashford area.

A closure is currently planned from Monday 22 June 2020, with estimated completion by 26 June 2020. Romden Road will be closed in the general vicinity of Sandhurst Farm, at its western end near the junction with Bethersden Road. The alternative route for through traffic is via Bethersden Road and Buffalo Lane. Local access to the remainder of Romden Road continues from an eastern direction up to where the road is actually closed. Due to the nature of the works, it will not be possible to re-open the road outside the working hours. The planned dates and duration may change for various reasons including the current coronavirus situation, and updated information can be found on www.one.network – [South East Water Permit EB006-21086195], with any changes signposted on site and notified locally.
