The roof has been leaking for a number of years now and although there have been some repairs in the last few years these have not solved the issue. It leaks at the joint/change of angle on the north side of the roof where it turns in a mostly flat roof.

Current Status - £1143

The fundraising efforts for the village hall roof repairs are making great headway, in particular the successful bid made for a National Lottery grant by Allan McVittie on behalf of the village hall (thank you Allan). While the grant will pay for the majority of the roof repairs, the village needs to provide the remaining £5000 and ideally this will come from the bespoke fundraising that we’ve had in place since November last year.

If you have been in the village hall recently you will have seen the very pretty ‘fundraising totaliser tree’ made by the Beal family (thank you all). The tree indicates how much of the £5000 has been raised and we have already passed the £1000 mark. The proceeds of future functions will go towards the total but, of course, donations will always be gratefully accepted.

Having received the lottery grant, and planning ahead on the remaining funding, the work to the village hall roof has been booked to start on Monday 27th April and will be ongoing for 3 weeks. Please do support the future functions in the hall if you can, so that the village can reach its fundraising target in good time!
