Reporting every incident of off-road vehicle use on Nottinghamshire’s footpaths, bridleways and restricted byways helps the police build a clearer picture of where and when this activity is taking place, identify hotspots and direct resources accordingly. The information provided may also assist in identifying links to other criminal activity, helping to prevent or solve further offences across the county.

Where it is safe to do so, photographs and videos can provide valuable supporting evidence. However, residents should never put themselves or others at risk when gathering information.

The key message is simple: if incidents are not reported, the police may not have the information they need to take action.

By working together, we can help protect our rural communities, safeguard our countryside and ensure that our public rights of way remain safe and accessible for everyone.

Should you encounter any other issues on public rights of way such as obstructions or vegetation, please report them via Nottinghamshire County Council’s website Submit a public rights of way enquiry - Your request - Section 1 - config - Nottinghamshire County Council . This helps the Rights of Way Team respond more quickly and helps keep the routes safe and accessible.
