Collingwood Triumphs

A special triumph on Saturday 7th July was Collingwood Bowling Club’s proud achievement in having members of the club – notably, Alan Hall, George Jobe, Martin Hayden, Fabian Scott and Chris Armstrong play as part of the Northumberland County team who met with the Yorkshire team in the Allsop Cup.

The match which took place at Ponteland was to say, in the least, a charged exciting game, not only for the players, but also for those who supported our players, swinging from end to end, with Northumberland victorious in the end to win the Allsop Cup.  A superb team effort, well organised and highly motivated by Collingwoods - "Mr Bowls"  - our chairman Michael Wilson

However, Saturday is traditionally a successful day for the club!

Successful in the fact that the club is filled with people who come along to try out the great sport of bowling, some - dogs included - just to observe – and some to dip their toe in the water and give bowling a try for the first time. Collingwood is delighted that of the many who have tried over the past few Saturdays all have become members, delighted to have you.

Of course some of those newer members who have the taste for a bit of competitive bowling can be seen extolling their skills around the green – the competition can be a little hit and miss, but nevertheless thoroughly enjoyed by all.
