Kent County Council proposal to close Richborough Household Waste and Recycling Centre -

Members of Cliffsend Parish Council arranged and met with District Councillors from Sandwich and Thanet to discuss a coordinated way to oppose the closure of the Richborough site. Since then, we have contacted our Member of Parliament for South Thanet, who fully supports our campaign to keep the site open, as do the MPs for North Thanet and Dover. There is now a growing body of residents, Parish, Town, District and County Councillors opposed to the closure. The Isle of Thanet News contains an article showing several cross-party Councillors (including our own Parish Council) who attended the site on 14th June to make their views known.

If you wish to make your own views known, can we suggest signing up to the mailing list at http://eepurl.com/ihodrv . This is being led by Dan Friend, who is the Dover Councillor representing Sandwich, which is where the site is located. You can also scan the QR code in 'Announcements' on this website.

There is also a petition, which can be signed by following link below -
