Seend Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group
Are you interested in joining the Seend Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group?
We are looking for 6 passionate residents who care about the future of our village and want to play an active role in shaping it.
What does a Neighbourhood Plan do?
A neighbourhood plan is a powerful community-led document that:
• Shapes where new homes and development should (and should not) go
• Protects green spaces, countryside views, and local heritage
• Influences the design and character of new buildings
• Supports local businesses and community facilities
• Helps improve leisure opportunities, play areas and community spaces
• Helps address transport issues, including traffic, road safety, walking and cycling routes, and public transport links
• Helps secure funding and improvements for local infrastructure
• Gives the community a stronger voice in planning decisions
Once adopted, the plan becomes part of the statutory development framework, meaning planning decisions must take it into account. It ensures that growth happens in a way that reflects the wishes and needs of local people.
Now that our Neighbourhood Plan is in place, it’s time to look ahead to monitor its impact, review policies when needed, and continue guiding the future of Seend.
We warmly invite you to attend the next Parish Council meeting on the last Tuesday of March at 19.00pm at Irene Usher Hall to find out more about joining the Steering Group.
A huge thank you to all the residents and councillors who were involved in creating the plan your hard work and dedication have made a lasting difference to our community.
If you are interested in helping shape the future of Seend, we would love to see you
