Autumn Games

Our weekend triples games have proved very popular. Thank you to everyone who has supported them. We aim to continue these for as long as the weather allows.

Planned dates are: September 12th, 20th and 26th, and October 4th, 10th, 17th and 24th If you want to play in any or all the above games, please send your name and games to Derek Squire at maryderek@btinternet.com or call 01666823482.

Staying Safe

National rules are changing again and we await guidance from Bowls England. However if we remain well organised and conform to the recommendations then the club should be able to stay open. We have all let our guard slip a little recently so here is a reminder:

  • Use the one way system around the green and the clubhouse.
  • With the cooler weather we will be closing the middle door and changing the bar access/interior route slightly. Please note and follow the changes.
  • Sign in for ‘track and trace’.
  • Use the cone to identify when the toilets are in use.
  • Use the hand sanitisers where provided.

Social Distancing

This is probably our biggest issue. If you can reach out and touch someone else then you are standing too close. Either on the green or in the club house. You will find the furniture re-arranged in the club house to encourage us all to maintain the necessary space.

Dark Evenings

The Tuesday competition will be ending soon but we hope to offer an activity that can take place inside the club house. Watch this space.

Club Tasks

There are a number of jobs that are needed in order to keep the games and the club running smoothly. For example we aim to re-introduce the role of Steward from September 20th. Also if you feel able to offer some help with anything else - green maintenance, bar work, fixtures etc then please do not be shy in offering!

Stop Press

Work on the willow tree behind the score board is due to start on Wednesday September 23rd so it is likely that the green will be unavailable for two or three days.
