Notice from District Councillor for Farningham, Horton Kirby & South Darenth, Philip McGarvey:

In this Local Elections year I can confirm the candidates nominated for Sevenoaks District Council elections on 4th May 2023:

Farningham, Horton Kirby & South Darenth (a two-seat ward, where residents will have 2 votes to elect two councillors from 4 candidates):

  • BALL Laurence Adrian: The Conservative Party Candidate
  • CROKER Toby Graham: The Green Party
  • WARD Tristan: Liberal Democrat
  • WHITE Alan James: The Conservative Party Candidate

Note that Cllr Philip McGarvey is retiring (after 20 years) and gives thanks to so many residents and the parish councils for their support. (Cllr Carroll had already resigned after a lengthy absence.)

Sadly there will not be any elections for Parish Councillors here this year because in Farningham there were only 4 nominations for the 7 seats (BURNS, Daryl; MCGARVEY, Philip; SALMON, Carol and SHANMUGANATHAN, Krishna – leaving 3 vacancies for co-option, so do please send your details to the FPC Clerk at clerk@farninghamparishcouncil.org if you are interested) …

and in Horton Kirby & South Darenth 8 nominations for the 9 places (BLACKAMORE, Ian Anthony; HUGHES, Glyn; MITCHELL, Dawn; MOYLE, Terry; PAGE, Christine Muriel; PEDLEY, Danny; ROHARD, Heather Ruby and RUSHBROOK, Peter Charles – leaving 1 vacancy for co-option, so do please send your details to the HK & SD Clerk at http://office@hksdparishcouncil.co.uk if you are interested).

In spite of there being no Parish Council elections, do please vote on 4th May for District Councillors as they will be encouraged to receive your support – and remember that if you have not applied for a postal vote and you intend to vote in person, you will need to bring photo ID with you on the day.

Again my thanks (looking forward to making more music in my semi-retirement), Philip McGarvey
