Shepherds Mount added to Secondary Treatment Network
Following a request from Compton Parish Council, we are very pleased that West Berkshire Council has confirmed it will be adding Shepherds Mount to the Road Secondary Treatment Network this winter. This means "the road will receive precautionary treatment when hoar frost and/or ice have been experienced for an unbroken period of 72 hours or greater (ie, sub-zero temperatures experienced through the period for 3 continuous days and nights)".
It joins the following roads in the Parish that already sit on the Secondary Treatment Network: Cheap Street, Hockham Road, Horn Street, Manor Crescent, Burrell Road, Coombe Road and Newbury Lane.
The following roads in the village sit on the Primary Treatment Network: Ilsley Road, High Street, School Road, Aldworth Road, Newbury Road (road to Hampstead Norreys). These roads receive precautionary treatment when hoar frost and/or ice is forecast.
