From Saturday May 16th it will be possible for club members to make use of our new green.

It is vital that we do all we can to minimise the risks for members/users of the green and so the following guidelines have been produced.

All users will need to bring with them either disposable gloves and/or sanitiser to decrease the risk of infection. Also a plastic bag to take away any used gloves/wipes etc.

Three rinks will be available each day. Odds and then evens. This will allow a full rink space between players. If the green becomes popular then an on-line booking system will be introduced.

Green Maintenance will take place on Monday mornings and Thursday morning so play will not be possible at those times otherwise:

    Mornings 10.00 – 1.00

    Afternoons 1.30 – 4.30

    Evenings 5.00 – 8.00

The timed gap between sessions is a stipulation from Bowls England.

    Green Rules

Maximum number of players - two per rink

Jacks, mats and scorecards will be available from the shed. No other equipment should be used.

Only one player should handle the mat at each end.

    No measuring for shots

    Only handle your own woods

No physical contact at all , for example shaking hands is not allowed.

Remember, with the new artificial surface it is very important that woods are always placed and never thrown from the sides onto the green.

    Health and Safety Rules

All players to be two metres apart at all times, even members of the same household, to avoid sending the wrong message to passers-by.

The Club house will not be accessible.

A one way system will operate, anti-clockwise, from the car park and around the green. The route between the club house and the new barrier is not to be used.

The gate will be left open so that it does not have to be touched

The wearing of face masks is not compulsory but advised.

Mats and Jacks must be kept infection free therefore the handling of the jack and mat with a disposable glove on the non-bowling hand is advised. All jacks could then be placed and not thrown.

Access to your own hand wipes is advised – but please take any rubbish home with you as there is no facility for disposal/collection at the club.

    General Points

If you encounter any problems with the green surface then report this to Roger Pope.

If you intend to bring a non-member or guest/potential new member then please clear this with John Smith first.
