Your local NHS Ambulance Service needs your help for our next elections in 2020!

Our next Governors election will be happening soon in 2020. It’s never too early to register your interest in putting yourself forward for election by emailing: company.secretary@scas.nhs.uk

Elections will be held in the following areas:

Public Governors:

Buckinghamshire (2 seats)
Oxfordshire (2 seats)
Berkshire (1 seat)
Hampshire (3 seats)

Governors play an important role in helping to shape and support the emergency and non-emergency services that the Trust provides in the South Central region.

The role of Governor is entirely voluntary but also demanding and rewarding; they have specific statutory duties to fulfil and the opportunity to be the crucial link between our communities and the Trust.

They are expected to attend the majority of Council of Governors meetings (held four times a year in the evening). Governors are also expected to attend training, sub-committee meetings, community engagement forums and events, as well as the annual members’ meeting held each September.

We will be holding Aspiring Governor Workshops on-line over the summer for you to find out more about the role of our public Governors. Please contact company.secretary@scas.nhs.uk if you would like more information.

Nominations will run from 21 September to 11 October.

Elections will run from 2 to 23 November.

IMPORTANT – If you would like to become a governor, you must be 16 or over and become a member first. Find out more about the role below https://www.scas.nhs.uk/elections/.
