Smarden Parish Council take speeding very seriously and are eager to reinstate the Speedwatch Group. To be really effective we need volunteers, so that we can monitor the traffic on a regular basis. We are looking for enthusiastic, committed, residents to offer their time and help crack down on this growing issue.
To become a Speedwatch Operative you have to undertake simple, multiple choice, safety awareness training on-line and operate at sites in the village, which have been risk assessed by Kent Police. Full PPE protection will be given, as well as comprehensive training. For more information go to www.communityspeedwatch.co.uk.
Studies have shown this can make a significant difference in an area, so any time you can give will be greatly appreciated. If you are able to help please email, clerk@smardenparishcouncil.org.uk or call 07763379936.
