Statement issued to the press re planning application

The residents association has been approached for a statement regarding the current planning application on site.

The Echo are especially keen on this application because they did a feature back in 2020 and the local councillor expressed his concerns about it.

We have issued the following statement to the Echo.

The Association was formed following many ongoing concerns amongst residents. Whilst we were in the process of formalising the association, residents received notice of this planning application from Basildon council.

At our meeting to constitute the association, many angry residents expressed their disappointment that they hadn't been consulted - especially as this was advised by Basildon Council at the pre-planning stage.

Following a vote, the association objected to the proposals and asked for Royale to meet with ALL residents (not just members of the association) to discuss further.

Royale has submitted an outdated site plan to support this application. As an example, new homes have been constructed since the plans were first drawn up which have a huge bearing on the application itself. These new homes and a new road aren't reflected on Royale's site plan at all.
Most people are not against new homes in principle. However, residents have real concerns over access to and from the new site which will use the already crumbling infrastructure of narrow roads and limited paths.

We look forward to Royale reaching out to the residents association and having constructive talks to benefit current residents, Royale and future home owners.
