Step 3 Re-opening
Dear Member
It has been a very long time but at last we are able to get back to something more resembling normality as a country and likewise we as a bowling club are able to do the same. So with effect from 17 May 2021 and in accordance with both Bowls England and Government guidelines the Executive Committee are pleased to advise of the following changes from the way we are currently operating:
1. All six outdoor rinks will be open and can be booked through the clubs BowlR system.
2. All formats of play up to and including rinks are now permitted.
3. The indoor rink will be open for playing with a maximum number of 6 people on the rink at any one time. Please note that again this should be booked through the BowlR system and our indoor rink is designated as rink 7. Please do not book rinks 1 – 6 if you want to play indoors or rink 7 if you want to play outdoors. Doing so will undoubtedly lead to too many players turning up and not being able to play.
4.The front door will now be available to use but please note that we still have an ongoing issue with the fob lock. As a result the front door will be unlocked and we have installed a lock on the inside door to prevent unauthorised entry. The code is the same as the back gate.
5.Full access to the clubhouse and all facilities is now permitted.
6.The bar will be open in the evenings and when matches are on but indoors it will be strictly table service. A list of drinks available have been put on each table and someone will come and take your order and then bring your order back. Please be patient if this takes a little longer than normal. Please note that we cannot serve anyone at the actual bar. For those playing outdoors the table will remain in place for you to order and collect your drinks
7.Masks must be worn at all times when in the clubhouse except when seated at a table for the purpose of a drink.
8.Please note that the 2 metre rule is still very much in place.
9.The rule of six applies and we would ask that members if using the clubhouse do not wander around from table to table.
10.Spectators will now be allowed to watch without purchasing a drink
11.There is now no need to sanitise the mats
12.The changing rooms are now fully operational but please remember the two metre rule.
13.If you have a problem with the Bowlr system or you are unable to use it for operational reasons please do contact either Janet Moore or Henry Richbell and we will help you out
I hope that I have covered everything but if you do have a query or question please contact any member of the Executive who will try to resolve the issue.
In the meantime all we now need is for the weather to become a little bit more like summer and for Covid 19 to be kept under control so that we can enjoy our bowling.
Regards
Henry Richbell
