Following a Committee decision earlier this year that we would discontinue the practice of having an Annual Jumble Sale, it was decided that in 2016 we would attend a Car Boot Sale and see if this achieved a better financial result. So this morning at 6.30 am (is there such a time on a Sunday?) six intrepid members set off to Swallowfields with Martin's van and Ric's car fully loaded with goods supplied by club members. For those who had never previously attended such an event, it was an eye opener, with people descending on our vehicles as soon as they had arrived and just like a Jumble Sale everyone wanted the items at a knock down price. We had, however, an excellent morning taking some £390 and after deducting the entry fees making a net profit of £370. The Club's thanks go to all who dug out items for sale but special thanks go to those members who arose early and worked so hard to achieve such a splendid result.
