Successful Completion of Historic Roof Restoration

We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of the historic roof restoration project at St Mary’s Church. This crucial work, funded by the generosity of our Friends and supporters, has preserved the church's stunning 17th-century timber roof and ensured that it remains structurally sound for future generations. The project also included the restoration of the roof beams, which are now once again visible in their full glory, showcasing the craftsmanship of the original builders. We would like to thank all of our donors, volunteers, and the Churches Conservation Trust for their ongoing support.

The completed restoration will be celebrated with a special public viewing during the "Medieval Music Night" on February 15th, 2025. We invite all members of the community to come and admire the work that has gone into preserving this piece of Sandwich’s history.
