Dorchester Bowls Club held an Outdoor Bowls Open Day on Saturday May 28th starting at 10 am and ending at 4 pm.

Open day went well with a trickle of visitors throughout the morning and a good few more from around 1 pm to 2.30.

As usual the cakes went down very well indeed so thanks to everyone who supplied them.

Interestingly, the majority of visitors chose the banners as the way they knew about the Open Day

35 people came to the event and 12 people have said they will come to the beginner’s course with and there is a good chance that 4 others might come after their holidays in the next two weeks.

4 or 5 people joined outdoors and filled in their applications on the day and about 4 people said they would come to our indoors event in September.

This means that around 70% of the visitors could become full members of the club in the coming year.

A big thank you to all the volunteers and coaches on the day who contributed to a successful event, Joyce and Pete for the catering and the bar staff for all their hard work.

Also a big thank you to the willing leaflet deliverers and banner positioners.
