Let’s Roll With Blidworth Bowls Club

Over the summer holiday Blidworth Bowls Club has been running a junior bowls group as part of the Blidworth Oaks Primary School summer programme. Around 20 children up to the age of 10 have been taught the basic skills involved in the game in a COVID-19 secure environment and have impressed us all with their behaviour and the speed at which they learnt the game.

Blidworth Bowls Club is based in the Blidworth Welfare complex but draws its membership mainly from Ravenshead, Blidworth and Rainworth and we welcome anyone who wants to have a go at bowls. The game provides a very pleasant way of taking exercise and the club holds regular social roll-up sessions as well as competing in local leagues when circumstances permit. Membership is only £30 per year and this provides members with free access to the green from April until the end of September. Some bowls are available at the club for those who wish to give the game a go … all you need is a pair of flat-soled shoes.

We are holding an open weekend on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th September from 10.00 am until 4.00 pm at the bowls green which is situated on the left as you enter the Blidworth Welfare car park. If you would like to come along we would love to see you so please contact either Gordon Cleugh on 01623 792995 or Cath Smith on 07855 232090 to arrange a time. If you are unable to make that weekend please contact Gordon or Cath to arrange an alternative time. We look forward to seeing you at the club and feel sure that you will enjoy the experience. You can also find out more about the club by looking at our website and can contact us via Facebook and Twitter – just search for Blidworth Bowls Club.
