Sevenoaks District Council have launched a new scheme to help young people get back into activities they enjoyed before the pandemic.

It’s acknowledged that 11 to 18 year olds were amongst the hardest hit by the COVID-19 restrictions. Sadly, some are still anxious about the future and many missed valuable learning and socialising. Some are no longer doing the things they enjoyed before Coronavirus struck.

Any young person can sign up to our scheme and take part in lots of free, fun activities including:

  • Skatepark and music days
  • Art therapy
  • A mural project
  • A youth café
  • Farm visits
  • Funding is also available to try something new or to do other activities

Those who join can connect with other young people and engage with a mentor. Where needed, access to mental health support will be available.

If you know someone who could benefit from the scheme or you’d like to know more, visit www.sevenoaks.gov.uk/covidsupport or email communities@sevenoaks.gov.uk

Can you help young people?

We’re looking to recruit a number of adult volunteers who could mentor and support young people as part of our scheme.

You would be working in the Edenbridge and Swanley areas. Full training and support will be provided.

To find out more, email communities@sevenoaks.gov.uk and we will send you further details.
