Relief in Need

Relief in Need has been established in Swaffham since early 2003; the main aim of the Trust is to support local people in Swaffham in times of hardship The Trust meet every 2 months to consider new applications.

Since the start of the Trust 189 applications have been reviewed, 149 approved with over £48,000 spent on supporting local residents in various ways; this includes the purchase of household goods, carpets, services etc.

Application Forms can be obtained from the Town Council Offices or online at the website – www.swaffhamtowncouncil.gov.uk. It is standard practice that a home visit, by 2 Trustees, is arranged prior to the Trust meetings. It’s an opportunity to meet with each applicant and to talk through their needs and what possible support the Trust can provide.

This is a great Charity, now in it’s 14th year, supported by the Council involving local people helping other local people.
