Swaffham Play area is a winner
Thank you to all the voters who helped Swaffham in their bid to win a share of the Tesco Bags of Help initiative.
The supermarket teamed up with Groundwork on its Bags of Help initiative, which provides grants – raised from the 5p bag levy – awarded to local environmental and Greenspace projects.
Customers cast their votes in November and Swaffham Town Council was successful in winning a massive grant of £8,000.
The grant money is being put to good use with a roundabout being ordered for the Merryweather Play Area – this has been out of action for some time, and the other equipment and surrounding fence are all in need of a spruce up to make the playground a safe and attractive place for children to play.
Thank you to Tesco for their support and to all customers who voted in favour of Swaffham Town Council.
