TALKING ABOUT WHAT MATTERS TO YOU

Suggestions for topics to be discussed by Folkestone & Hythe District Council’s overview and scrutiny committee in 2026/27 are now being welcomed.

Ideas must be relevant across the district and within the local authority’s remit – they cannot have been reviewed in the past 12 months or include planning applications, licensing issues and individual complaints.

The council’s corporate plan, Folkestone – A Brighter Future and local government reorganisation are among those considered in the chamber in recent years.

Cllr Mike Blakemore, Cabinet Member for Community and Collaboration, said: “The importance of residents engaging with the work of the council cannot be underestimated. This is a perfect opportunity to be directly involved.

“The overview and scrutiny committee covers a lot of key local topics in its investigations. Its members are very keen to hear your suggestions.”

Visit folkestone-hythe.gov.uk/democracy/council-scrutiny and complete the online form or write to Committee Services, Civic Centre, Castle Hill Avenue, Folkestone, Kent, CT20 2QY before 3pm on Monday 26 January 2026.

Matters relating to a small area should be raised with ward councillors in the first instance.
