On Saturday 22nd August Alton Tennis Club was proud to host a 12 hour tennis marathon in aid of Prostate Cancer UK. The sun shone brightly, there was a great atmosphere, the table groaned under the weight of cakes donated by kind members and spirits were high - even the tea urn bubbled merrily!

Congratulations to the marathon players, Ross Welch, Justin Monnington, Bryony Jones and Sam Green who displayed an enviable amount of stamina, to those who relieved them during breaks, to Paul and Cameron who offered coaching ..... and not forgetting Aaron who melted in the Umpire's Chair for hours on end! All did a sterling job!

Grateful thanks to all who supported this fantastically successful event which raised almost £1,600, (exceeding the original £1k target). For anyone who couldn't make the event but still wishes to donate; just visit https://www.justgiving.com/altontennismarathon.
