I realise this is a worrying time for people especially those self-isolating or who are vulnerable and may need the help of others to get by.

The Hamble community has been quick to respond, with volunteers leaflet dropping every household with a name and contact number of someone that can provide a little help with day-to-day worries. In addition, I am aware that other groups and organisations are working hard to help their own members who are in need of help.

For relatives and friends outside the area who are worried about a loved one, the volunteer contact should be the first option unless of course there is regular care and support going in. If the volunteer can't help, they will come to us and we will look to refer them to other services where we can.

Businesses have also been in touch asking about how they can help which is great and we thank you for your generosity. Please keep the offers of help coming.

If you want to help the volunteers, you will find more details on Hamble quarantine help Facebook page (click here) or you can contact us and we will forward your details on.

A big thank you to everyone that has helped out so far, whether in the shops, the community or local services. Keep up the great work - it really is making a big difference to people when they need it most.
