February 28th was the closing date for the return of responses to the village survey. 17 residents chose to reply online, 23 residents chose the more traditional, pen and paper format. Amongst the early, and immediate, impressions the following features were evident:
the majority of respondents are in the 60 years old and above categories,
the major concern for the future of the village is the threat of new housing on greenfield sites,
the most sought after developments are a pub, a shop and further controls over traffic within the village.
The detailed collection of responses, and the overall impressions they offer, will take place during March and early April. The intention is for the council, over the next month, to produce a discussion document, published on the council website and in The Country Neighbour, outlining possible developments over the next few years. At the Annual Assembly later in the year these proposals will be considered and, where appropriate, adopted.
