We couldn’t have asked for better weather — or better company — at this year’s Big Summer Social!

The day kicked off with a friendly Summer Showdown match: two teams of four took to the green, featuring a great mix of seasoned players and enthusiastic first-timers (including our future pro, Isla!). A few early guests gathered to watch, creating a brilliant buzz around the game.

Afterwards, we headed inside for a delicious buffet lunch. The spread was fantastic — pasta salads, cold meats, and all sorts of bits and bobs, topped off with a selection of irresistible desserts. Some of us definitely went back for seconds!

Then it was time for the main event — the pub quiz! Four teams battled it out in what turned out to be a very competitive and very entertaining afternoon. Each round brought a fresh challenge, and the dingbats (picture puzzles where you guess the phrase) in between rounds were a real hit. Huge congratulations to the winning team, The Collective — much to the (loudly voiced!) dismay of those of us at the other end of the scoreboard!

The raffle rounded things off. The prizes on offer were excellent, as evidenced by the delight on Connor’s face when he bagged both a boat and a lighthouse!

Huge thanks to Elisa for pulling together such a brilliant quiz and coordinating the whole afternoon so smoothly — the day wouldn’t have happened without her.

A few keen bowlers stuck around for a relaxed rollup to end the day. The rain stayed away, the laughter never stopped — and with players and guests of all ages taking part, it really was one of those special, multi-generational days that remind you exactly why we do this.
