Please find listed below some of the Royal Coronation events scheduled for the bank holiday weekend in May 2023.

  • Friday 5th May 2023 from 2.30pm to 4pm - afternoon tea at Shipley Primary School (all are welcome);
  • Saturday 6th May 2023 - The Coronation of The King and The Queen Consort;
  • Sunday 7th May 2023 from 12 noon to 3pm - "The Big Coronation Lunch" - a Teddy Bears picnic at the Coolham playing fields. Bring your own picnic, and a teddy bear. The event will include the unveiling of a new Coronation commemorative bench that has been commissioned by Shipley Parish Council, designed and built by the Camelia Botnor Foundation for the community to enjoy; and
  • Monday 8th May 2023 at 11am - the unveiling of a Coronation plaque and ‘Broadview’ Walnut tree in Church Close, Shipley, commissioned by Shipley Parish Council. Refreshments will be served by The Church Committee in the Andrew Hall, Shipley with a few words from the Parish Council Chairman, Mr Philip Baxter.
