The green is open!

In bright sunshine, but a chilly wind, Andover Bowling Club's Vigo Park green opened today at 2pm for the outdoors season.

Lol and Dave Bradbury, and Jim and Andy Carnegie, kicked things off for us as soon as the gates were open and we also welcomed another couple of visitors. The green is looking great, and by all accounts is already bowling very well. That we were again able to open on time reflects in part the winter and early spring weather, but is also a tribute to the work of the greenkeeping and grounds maintenance team over the winter to get, and keep, the green in tip-top shape. Thanks also to the volunteers this morning, led by Steve Baker, Club President in preparing and cleaning the surrounds, and serving up coffee and doughnuts in the Clubside.

So, let the bowling commence. And do come along and join us as we do our best to establish Vigo Park as a fortress for Andover this summer!
