We are delighted to share the Sandwich Society Journal a remarkable and much-loved record of Sandwich’s history, character, and community life. It was produced by the now dormant Sandwich Society. Across its 20 volumes, the Journal brings together rich historical research, personal memories, and local insights that capture the spirit of the town in a way few publications can. It is an invaluable resource for anyone interested in Sandwich—whether long-standing resident, researcher, or curious visitor.

The Sandwich History Society believes it is important to preserve and make accessible this unique body of work. We are therefore publishing the full series online, including volumes currently being digitised. You can explore them via the pages titled “SSJ”. This project was possible thanks to Ann Harrison-Brooks, former editor, who carefully maintained a complete set of the Journal. We are very grateful for her stewardship of this important part of Sandwich’s heritage.
