Back before Christmas, when Oakley failed to win either of its first two matches in the Amble/Fuller (previously Cusheon) Trophy, hopes of reaching an eighth successive Final were slim. Somehow, however, our players fought their way through the rest of the round robin stage and, tonight at Loddon Vale, the team found itself playing against Old Basing in the semi final. This promised to be a difficult evening, as it was Basing that defeated Oakley in the 2022 Final. There was, however, to be no repetition of that result. Oakley surged out of the blocks and by 5 ends had a 9-0 lead which was extended to 16-3 by 10 ends. Basing fought to the end but our congratulations go to Steve Devonish, Bob Goodyear, Sean Lassman and Graham Tompkins who ran out winners by 23 shots to 8. The Final will be played on 1st April.Good Luck.
