Boughton-Under-Blean started the week with the men going to Faversham on Tuesday evening for a match in the Forrest of Blean league. Both sides found the going very heavy and this was made worse by the rain which persisted throughout most of the match.

Faversham 108. Boughton 88. 6 points to Faversham, 2 points to Boughton.

Winning rinks: Brian May, Charles Marsh and Peter Shead won 20-9

Brian Whittaker, Dave Waters and Mike Best won 21-17

Friday saw Lyminge visiting Boughton for a friendly match. Again, the weather played a part but the rain held off so the match could be completed. Lyminge 90. Boughton 73

Winning rinks: Jan Weatherly, Roy Tamplin and Bill Beacon won 16 – 11

Gwen Brown, Dave Chapman and Mick Cousins won 19 – 12

On Sunday Boughton played host to Canterbury in a friendly match played out in the dry. This was a closely fought match with each team winning three rinks. Final score Canterbury 90, Boughton 88.

Winning rinks: Paul Mellet, Linda Prior and Charles Marsh won 22-6

Liz Chapman, Neil Webber and Bob Holliday won 16-10

Gwen Brown, Dave Chapman and Phil Philpot won 18-13
