Boughton-Under-Blean started the week on Tuesday with the men hosting a ‘Forest of Blean’ match against Whitstable. Boughton 80. Whitstable 73.

Winning rinks: Brian Whittaker, Jeff Eason and Mike Best won 19-9

Tim Prior, Brian Gentry and Bob Holliday won 16-13

Paul Mellet, John Agate and Colin Marsh won 14-12

Ron Piper, Trevor Lyons and Phil Philpot won 17-10

Wednesday saw our ladies away to Whitstable in a ‘Heron League’ match, for one of the last matches to be played before the Whitstable club undertake extensive renovation of their ‘difficult’ green. A real battle ensued as our ladies found the green. Boughton 36 . Whitstable 35 .

Winning rinks: Lena Rogers, Barbara Hadler and Karen Fletcher won 19-18

Liz Chapman, Ann Cousins and Linda Prior drew 17-17

Thursday and again our ladies were away in the ‘Heron League’ at Canterbury. Playing in the summer heat proved tough, but a tight last end was just enough to ensure a second 'Heron League' win in two days.Well done.

Saturday the club visited Milton Regis for a friendly triples match played on four rinks. Boughton 55. Milton Regis 73.

Winning rinks: Liz Chapman, Brian Lake and Bill Beacon won 18-10

Trevor Beecham, Neil Webber and John Agate won 21-8

And finally over the last few of weeks, we have received many compliments about our green, so thanks to the green keeping team for ensuring we have one of the best kept greens in the county.
