Last night at Hook, Oakley took on Hook BC in the Tony Allcock Trophy- the National Mixed Over 60s Double Rink Competition. The early stages went Oakley's way and, after 5 ends,we led 11-7. but by 8 ends the lead had changed hands. At 15 ends Oakley trailed by just 4 but by this stage one rink was struggling badly and matters got no better over the closing ends and Oakley went down to a 9 shot defeat

Scores; Mary Varndell, Malcolm Grime, Trevor Wearn and Kay Kerley won 29-15, Jo Holland, Coral Wearn, Bob Goodyear and Graham Tompkins lost 7-30
