WEDNESDAY 26 JUNE – AWAY AT SPRING PARK SHIRLEY
1 Mixed Triples, 1 Mixed Doubles – CABL League

We played away at Spring Park on a warm Wednesday afternoon, with the heat making its presence felt across both rinks.

In the triples, it was a fairly even contest in terms of ends won – we took 8 – but Spring Park were consistent scorers, often picking up two or more at a time. A big count of six in the final end sealed the result in their favour, with a final score of 23–11.

Over on the doubles rink, it was my first pairs match. I started well but as my skills waned in the heat, Jeff was hotting up. Between us, we managed to keep it very close and we were tied on 12 going into the final end. Unfortunately, Spring Park found 2 points and the final result was 14–12.

Two hard-fought matches and tough results to take but well played by all.
