Trevor Jenkins

It is with deep sadness that I have to report that Trevor Jenkins has passed away in some very sad circumstances. Trevor, since his retirement spent virtually every morning out riding his bike or walking around Southsea, it was on Sunday morning that he was involved in an accident in Goldsmith Avenue, a couple of hundred yards from the green. Trevor was immediately transferred by air ambulance to Southampton Trauma Unit but never survived from his injuries. To compound the agony his wife, Paula, who is terminally ill with cancer passed away on Monday morning.

I’m sure all our members will join me & Martin, ( Trevor was also our neighbour in The Haven) in sending our condolences to Amanda their daughter in these tragic circumstances.

I have been in contact with Trevor's daughter and it seems there is not going to be a funeral as such, however, there is to be a "Celebration" of their lives on Friday 21st January between 4 & 7 at the Jolly Sailor in Southsea. It was a place the family always went to for a celebration of birthdays etc and was their "special place". Everyone is welcome to attend. There is a nice article in today's Portsmouth News.
