It was not the return of Roy Race from Melchester Rovers but our own Roy Wilcox who returned with some shiny new speckled red woods. It was good to see our Roy on the new green.

The scores on the doors were

Tim v Albert, 11 - 4 and 10 - 2 shots

6 - 0 points

Ruby v Roy, 4 - 6 and 14 - 1 shots

4 - 2 points

Brian v Bob, 2 - 6 and 11 - 2 shots

4 - 2 points

The standings for the Triples League are

1. Tim 12 points +23 shots

2. Ruby 10 points, +34 shots

3. Brian 7 points, + 5 shots

4. Albert, 3 points, -14 shots

5. Roy, 2 points, -22 shots

6. Bob, 2 points, -26 shots

Next week, the sets will be reduced from 7 ends to 6 ends so as to not finish in the pitch black.

"Pitch black" was first recorded in the English language in John Marston's satire The Scourge of Villanie, 1598
