Earlier this year we visited some of Alton's schools and asked the children for their help in producing Twiddlemuffs - warm knitted tactile hand muffs, with lots of varied textures to both relax and provide stimulation for those with dementia and restless hands. We were thrilled when Alton Infant School contacted us to say they had made 40 for us! On 2nd March one of our volunteers revisited the school to collect the Twiddlemuffs - here are some photos of the children proudly showing them off.

A BIG thank you to all the children involved.

It would be wonderful to get more local schools and children involved in this activity, and raise awareness of dementia with them - if your school would like to participate please let us know either by emailing dementia_friends@btinternet.com, via our Facebook page or by contacting Karen Murrell on 07922 022321.
