Message from Cllr Shellina Prendergast, Kent County Council:

https://kccmediahub.net/a-warm-welcome-awaits-ukrainian-refugees745

Dear All,

The war in Ukraine is on all our minds and many residents have been in touch with me recently asking how they can help with the efforts to welcome and support those who are seeking refuge from the conflict. Kent County Council is actively working with partners to provide immediate support and assistance to both the new arrivals and the host families providing the accommodation – including access to all relevant services such as children’s education, healthcare, benefits, English classes and interpretation/translation services where required. It goes without saying that the role of our residents – along with the voluntary sector and charities - is integral to everything. To that end, I’d be immensely grateful if you could share the link above as widely as possible including your parish council websites and any social media presence you have.

Please do let me know if you require any further information.

Kind regards

Shellina
