Unfortunately, We're Calling Off the Litter Picking Initiative

As many of you will recall, back in April 2026 following a number of requests from several residents, we put out a call for volunteers interested in forming a community litter picking group to help keep Shilbottle tidy.

Sadly, we've had just two people respond. That's far too few to make this work properly, so we've made the difficult decision to withdraw the initiative effective immediately.

We're disappointed by the lack of response — keeping our streets clean really is a shared responsibility, and it would have been wonderful to see more come forward to help.

Should a renewed interest emerge at a future date, the Parish Council reserves the right to reconsider similar initiatives upon demonstration of adequate community support.
