Find out more about this community in:

1st – 28th July East Haddon – Entry forced to stables and a red Honda quad bike stolen

31st July Barby – Someone has walked across fields to access barn and steal horse rugs and equipment

28th – 31st July Staverton – Diesel siphoned out of combine harvester and tractor along with John Deere parts stolen from vehicles left in field for harvest

30th July – 2nd August Kilsby – Fence energiser and some wooden fence posts stolen from field. Other fence posts left behind so believed offenders were disturbed.

1st August – Towcester – Hay and straw set alight in barn

3rd – 4th August Farthinghoe Locks on gate damaged to allow access and vehicle driven around field worrying the sheep.

4th – 5th August – Woodford Halse – Entry forced to business premises and 2 horseboxes and a car stolen.

5th – 6th August – Harlestone – Entry forced to business premises and a Ford Transit van and Polaris ATV stolen

7th August – Towcester – hay bales set alight and three youths seen running from location

8th – 9th August – Lilbourne – Yard entered and entry forced to outbuilding where a Mansfield sit on mower has been taken and then lifted over a gate to remove it from the location.

16th – 17th August – Upton – Field entered and Prattley sheep handling equipment stolen ( I know not technically our area but worth noting that this equipment is being stolen)

20th – 21st August – Shutlanger – Farm yard entered and lock cut on container, whereby tools from within are stolen

22nd August – East Haddon – Farm burgled and shotguns taken from location

Salcey Forest – Unfortunately the forest has become the target for antisocial behaviour and criminal damage over the last couple of months. It is happening around the carpark and treetop walk area and usually later in the evening when the area is closed down. Should you see or hear anything about this then please get in contact on 101 quoting reference 17000330047.

There has also been an increase in shed breaks where tools and garden equipment such as push along mowers, strimmers and chainsaws are being taken. Please be aware and secure sheds, outbuildings etc to deter would be thieves.

Although not occurring on this side of the county yet, with metal prices beginning to increase we have seen a rise in lead thefts from church roofs again. These offenders will be using vehicles and possibly looking around the area in the daytime so please note any suspicious vehicles and pass the details on to either myself or 101.

We’ve not many hare coursing reports this side recently but they are picking up slowly and with the weather as it is this will hopefully deter them as well but any suspicious activity or vehicles please either let myself know or report it online or via 101. There is now a new system that if you are calling from a mobile, at peak demand times you will be offered a call back so that you can get on with your day and the control room should then respond to you when demand has quietened down. If you do use this service and don’t get a call back can you let me know and I’ll feed this back to the Inspector in the control room.
